Our eyes are drawn to points of light
as to moon, sun, and stars of night
Moonglow brightens darkest terrains
Amid our quests for positive gains
Sun so bright upon our head
Banish dire thoughts and wipe away dread
Stars above sparkle so bright
A community about when feeling affright
This Light as a lamp now burning
May it bring joy upon our yearning
Look upon those points of Light
Discover and be them through each night

Round-and-round
Spinning with glee
Wind on the skin
And hair flying free
Mouth wide open
Eyes shining bright
What could be better
This wondrous delight
Knights of old
So valiant and brave
Riding their chargers
Now give them a wave
Zooming past
Now hold on tight
Or push and run
With all their might
Happy and dizzy
Seeing others flash past
They make a good team
…And a joy that will last
Charlotte-Anne Allen
Happy music
Pure delight
Bubbling forth
Like a high-flying kite
Mouth full of laughter
Eyes shining so bright
Giggles from the belly
What a joyful sight
Ahh for the joy
For life simple, carefree
Precious moments are holy
And times just … to be

Spinning, turning
In great abandon
Joyful pinwheels
Touched by wind’s breath
Buzzing, humming buttons
Pull and release, pull and release
Gee-haws reversing
With thumbnail’s subtle touch
Whirling, circling
Gazing up and down
What movement
Dancing in a gladsome show

In daily things there’s much to see
Contentment found in great and small
Let not joy trickle from your hand
But hold it carefully to your heart
To know fulfillment, examine within
Your thoughts and expectations
In prayer we find our greatest treasure
Love is the key to fulfillment.

Have you ever heard a chicken laugh?
… Heard it burble with much glee?
What marvelous thoughts do they ponder?
… and what great things to see?
“Ah ha-ha-ha”, now hear them chortle.
… With darting gaze they look about.
Loyal sisters comment, clucking with much delight
… Then run around in confusion, expressing a bit of doubt.
Now the mighty leader loudly calling too
Expressing his opinion… a personal great view
Never a boring day, approached with grin and chuckle
… Sharing chicken laughs with you!

Up, chirp, chitter chatter
Squirrel tail goes flitter flatter
Fussing as we pass below
Peering through the leaves just so
Hurling about with great velocity
Their big eyes bright with curiosity
Busily digging, digging about
Hiding food so they won’t go without
Building homes nestled high in a tree
Safe and secure where they can see
Facing our own challenges, we can take notes
From these creative adventurers in furry coats
Charlotte-Anne Allen
Softly spoken
Words in care
Music drifting
In the air
Beaming face
And tender touch
Reaching out
Is not too much
Spread some joy
In this new year
Share some laughter
And good cheer

That spark, that sparkle
From within it grows
Lights up our eyes
So that everyone knows
Whether soft and glowing
Or vibrant and open
It brings comfort to others
And assurance for hoping
May we share that bright sparkle
In all that we do
From love it is born
God’s Spirit shines through
Charlotte-Anne Allen
Whirly whirly, giddy giddy
Spinning ‘round til you are dizzy
Childhood joys for young and old
Loving life’s sunshine is pure gold
When feeling gloomy or out-of-place
Lift your head for a smiling face
Ripples of encouragement to all
Joyful light… we welcome its call
