Eyes to see
Yonder stars shining
Even when clouds gather
So, turning my head to heavens above
Every day, now fill me
Yes, with lifted arms to God
Each brings a promise of hope
Sing, sweet Light, and fill our souls

Towering giants
stretch their bare arms
To cloudy sky
Weekend dreamers
Slumber in warm cocoons
As quiet reigns
Soft breeze
Gently stirs bushes…rustling
In morn’s dim glow
Feathered residents
Silently huddle in chilly patience
Winging fleetingly aloft
Footsteps sound
Crunching on dry grass and leaves
Delivering morning meals
Nipped nose
Draws in crisp fresh air
This mid-winter morn

The sun rises and we greet the day
To dread or cheer along the way
What this we think, we look, we see
Of how we’ll live and how we’ll be
As light shines now bright and clear
Or through fog and cloud, from One so dear
To warm the heart and fortify our bone
Lift our faces…We are not alone
A promise renew and peace lift up
For strength and joy to fill our cup
We thank you God for your love and care
For this new day, with us everywhere

In prayer walking with you, oh God
Bowing before You; humbly I fall
Secure in Your presence
Whatever will come
God is my hour
Each minute and second
Our time is revealed
Across ocean’s vastness
Upon this earth
God is my hour
In strength or in weakness
God, you give all that I need
You hold me securely as I turn to You
… Life’s offer to One Who Knows
God is my hour
Morning rise, full of light
Evening come, darkness starshine
Through each day and blackest night
Whatever besets me…
God is my hour
For family, friends, and community
Needy world, where’er I’m found
Thanks be raised that God is here
Faith now offered; comfort bring
God is my hour
To my pastor, Mark Reece, Jr, as he steps out in service
and to all who seek God. Be encouraged.

Cool air wafting on sweaty brows
Or sunshine’s warmth to ease day’s chill
Stretching and turning; curling and snuggling
Quiet moments bring respite; fill us.
Satisfied… Embracing peace
Shedding cares for a time
We savor the richness
Close our eyes and breath deeply
The noise of the day recedes
And we rest …content

Blossoms open wide
To greet the day
Shining beauty
Draws in warmth
Joyfully raises its head
Living fully in day’s light
Heart-shaped leaves
Declare love’s touch
Healing and happiness
Radiate for all who see
So may we too take note and
Live life as a morning glory

A hint, a tease
Sparkle of light now lingers
‘Midst winter’s chill
Grows ‘lencten’ time
Our heralds the robins
Passing through
Foretell the coming
Of March’s springtide
Prepare, prepare
In contemplation
Sorrow for wrongs
Renewing of hearts
Chill winds still nip and
In dark nights howl
Where is the light which
Warms life and earth
Now one and two
Slow steps to forty
From ashes and regret
To new life springing forth
Come join that journey
Drawn to the source
In quiet solitude
This Lententide

The water’s hot
The cup is ready
What shall it be today?
Some chamomile
Or peppermint
To calm
Or energize
For grumbly stomach
Or to ward off ills
Some ginger
Or echinacea
But green tea’s good
And traditional black
For strengthened heath
And comforting warmth
What’s that you say?
It tastes like grass?!
Don’t spew it out!
Now give it just a chance.
A bit of tea at end of day
Or when you’re feeling drained
It’s just the thing
I tell the truth
You’ll stick with coffee?
To each his own they say
Ahhh, this is fine
Time to relax and enjoy
… While I sip my cup of tea

Running here and running there
What am I to do?
Let’s go this way
Wait, look at that!
So much now to discover
…Where was I going?
Oh yes, that’s it
Complete my task
Now just a little further
Travel down this trail
Did you hear that?
I love that tune!
Reminds me of happy times.
You remember when…
Come let me show you
What I found the other day!
… Sun’s now setting?!
Day’s now waning?!
But there are more trails to trod!
Open eyes ears heart
Hmmm… so true!
Living life to the fullest!
Finding new horizons
Down those rabbit trails

When I waken
To morn’s cool breath
Quiet, peaceful
Night’s full rest
May I touch day’s promise
With the joy of a child
Day now greeted
By chirp and song
Honk and rumble
Whisper or shout
May I hear and listen
With the joy of a child
Food to nourish
Clothes to wear
Friends to help me
God to provide
May I step this day’s path
With the joy of a child
Heart now open
My eyes to see
Hands to offer
Words encourage
May I live day’s fullness
With the joy of a child
