Lightly breaths the freshening air
Softly lifting sweeping strands of hair

Lightly speaks a sleepy songbird
As morning rays spread glowing fingers

Gentle rabbit ever slowly and lightly hops
Upon bedewed blades sparkling in sun’s touch

Sighing and yawning world slowly awakes
Stepping lightly and looking upon day’s dawn

Lightly now we gaze upon earth’s glory
Pausing amid our to-and-fro and breathing deeply

Treasured moments to renew and strengthen
Welcome gift of peace from our Creator God

Sunshine upon closed eyes
Lit by autumn’s cool glow
Upon thankful heads
Leaning to lingering warmth

Frosty nip at early morning’s dawn
Nature’s announcer of shifting seasons
Step lightly now and breath crisp chill
Growing nuances of more to come

And so, I dream of summer gone
Walking, playing, working, moving
Mindful of the new and the old
Life’s cycles and curiosity piqued

So, we shall live
One step at a time
Ever remembering and
Ever looking forward … in God’s great plan

We embrace

To till and tend
To weed and water

Portents of things to come
Stormy sky and pouring rain
Fair weather cotton balls

Look about and heed
What do we form for all to see
Sailing high above in swift retreat
Or gusting words to rush about

What times for lifting energizing
Beauty flashing midst struggles deep
Washing sometimes roaring
In our own smallness soaring

Do we speak of fairer days
Quietly linger softly calming
Breath in deeply sweet aroma
Welcome refreshment steady supply

When you hear a doozy of a tale

A great hullabaloo of a commotion
Arises when bamboozled… I’ve been tricked!

We skedaddle and leave quickly
When faced with hogwash nonsense!

Don’t lollygag or waste any time
Listening to gobbledygook and meaningless talk

Take care not to get turned back widdershins
Things sometimes do go cattywampus

They’re just the right fit
For frustrating or interesting moments
… Perfect for interjecting a bit of wit!
