Colors bright
Shine in the air
Gently waving
Now float to earth
Autumn’s touch
With its cool caress
Speaks now softly
Of evening’s rest
Crunch of leaves
Beneath our feet
Breathing deeply
Quiet calm
Come now gather
Draw in closer
Settle into…
Autumn’s touch
Autumn is my favorite season. When two grandsons were young, I drove around town pointing out the various colors of the leaves: gold, orange, red, yellow, even green. One boy asked about brown. Then added, “Brown is a color too.” He put me in my place.
